Resumen: Concern over the decline in oil production over time has led to the search for new
alternatives to increase the oil recovery factor. The present work analyzed the
displacement of oil retained in a porous medium in a pressurized environment, by
means of the injection of three fluids: water, glycerin solution and sodium dodecyl
sulfate (SDS) surfactant solution, three flows. The average result obtained for the
conventional method (water injection) was in agreement with the values found in the
literature (40.74%), guaranteeing the credibility of the experimental bench. The mean
recovery percentage for the EOR (glycerol solution and surfactant solution) methods
was approximately 20% greater than the conventional method. When analyzing the
injection flows, it was concluded that lower flow rates generate higher recovery factor,
but with longer times.
