Resumen: Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology is seen as a promising solution to mitigate greenhouse gases, particularly carbon dioxide (CO2), which primarily originates from the burning of fossil fuels and industrial processes. This technology captures and stores CO2 in underground rock formations, preventing its contribution to global temperature rise. In this context, the present study aims to analyze public perception regarding the use of CCS technology. To achieve this, a public opinion survey will be conducted among students and professors from Federal Universities in Brazil through an online questionnaire, primarily consisting of closed-ended questions on Environmental Awareness and CCS Technology. After data collection, the study intends to assess the level of knowledge about environmental impacts, public awareness of the issue, and opinions on the use of CCS as a means of mitigating CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
