Libraries

PPGEN has access to the UFES Integrated Library System (SIB-UFES). Data about the collection can be found at the link: https://prppg.ufes.br/bibliotecas-da-ufes. The UFES Integrated Library System (SIB-UFES) is composed of 9 information units, arranged across the university's 4 campuses, namely: Goiabeiras Campus - Central Library, Sectoral Arts Library (CAr), Sectoral Library of the Center for Human and Natural Sciences (CCHN), Sectoral Education Library (CE), and Sectoral Library of Physical Education and Sports (CEFD); Maruípe Campus - Maruípe Sectoral Library (BSM); São Mateus Campus, North Sectoral Library (CEUNES); Alegre Campus - South Sectoral Library (SBS); and, in Jerônimo Monteiro, the Sectoral Library of the Center for Studies and Diffusion of Technology in Forests, Water Resources, and Sustainable Agriculture (NEDTEC). The Library System (SIB/UFES) is coordinated by the Central Library and aims to meet the demands for information necessary for the teaching, research, extension, and administration activities of UFES. Through the Collection Development Policy, the SIB seeks to continually update its bibliographic collection, meeting the needs of undergraduate and graduate courses. It currently has 322,950 copies (including books, dissertations/theses, multimedia, and periodicals).

The SIB/UFES is computerized, with more than a hundred computers connected to the internet, and actively participates in the CAPES Periodicals Portal, a valuable resource for the development of research, especially in stricto sensu graduate courses. The SIB/UFES integrates several networks, such as PERGAMUM, BIREME, COMUT, BIBLIODATA, REBAP, REBAE, CCN, and ISTEC. Among the services offered, the following stand out: Online catalog; Home lending; User training; Bibliographic survey; Guidance and standardization of academic works; Bibliographic switching; Reservation of bibliography used in courses; Cataloging in publication; Website; Digital library; Interlibrary loan; Guidance and training on the Periodicals Portal; Spaces for group and individual studies; Multipurpose spaces (auditoriums, videoconference rooms, computer labs, accessibility lab); Wireless internet network.

In the field of information technology, we highlight contracts in force since 2020, which guarantee access to several digital platforms:

• RT-Online Portal (Revista dos Tribunais): Access to more than 30 magazine titles and content in the legal area.

• Target GedWeb: Access to ABNT and Mercosul standards, with more than 16,000 ABNT NBR/NM standards and international standards.

• Minha Biblioteca: Platform with more than 10,000 e-book titles in several areas of knowledge.

• Pearson Virtual Platform: Access to over 9,000 e-book titles from various publishers, covering over 40 areas of knowledge.

In addition, the SIB maintains permanent licenses for e-books from the publishers Cambridge, Wiley, IEEE, Elsevier, Zahar, and Senac/SP, totaling approximately 1,500 national and international titles.

North Sector Library, located at the UFES São Mateus-ES CAMPUS

Opened in 2010, the CEUNES library has an area of 2,808 m². It has a computer room with 25 computers for access to the collection and the CAPES PERIODICALS PORTAL, in addition to the space reserved for the collection of books and periodicals. This is an invaluable tool for the development of research work for our program. The link to access information from the library at the UFES São Mateus-ES campus is https://biblioteca.ufes.br/biblioteca-setorial-norte.

The CEUNES Library has a collection of materials in various formats, such as books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs, videotapes, etc. It has a collection of 16,138 copies and 5,537 book titles, consisting of works acquired after the creation of the center to support new courses, as well as works remaining from the former Northern University Coordination of Espírito Santo (which in the 1990s offered courses in Pedagogy and Degrees in Mathematics, Physical Education, Literature and Biological Sciences).

Its mission is to provide the bibliographic infrastructure necessary for teaching, research, extension, and administration activities for the courses in Agronomy, Biological Sciences, Nursing, Computer Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Production Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Mathematics (Bachelor's and Undergraduate) and Physical Education. As a policy to increase the library collection, within the resources provided for in the Expansion and Consolidation Plan for the Interiorization of the UFES, CEUNES invested approximately R$500,000.00 in 2007 and 2008 to increase the collection to meet the demands of undergraduate courses and postgraduate projects. In 2012 in particular, R$97,000.00 was invested to acquire bibliographic material exclusively for the Master's in Energy.
