Syllabus: Magnetic materials: introduction and applications. Experimental methods: magnetometers, susceptometers, magnetic balances, magneto-optical effect, neutron diffractometry. Creostats: cryogenic liquids, vacuum, temperature sensors. Magnetic units and relevant variables: magnetization, critical temperature, external field, saturation, coercive field, and remanence. Experimental analysis of different types of magnetic structures.
